Presented by Michelle Beidelschies, Ph.D. and Kelly C. Heim, Ph.D.
Regular consumption of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA is associated with cardiometabolic health and overall wellness. An ideal 4/1 ratio of dietary omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is associated with significant cardiovascular protection. However, most patients do not meet this ratio. The OmegaCheck™ test measures blood levels of EPA, DHA, linoleic acid, arachidonic acid, and the omega-3/-6 ratio, providing a complete picture of essential fatty acid status. In this webinar, Michelle Beidelschies, Ph.D. of Cleveland HeartLab, Inc. presents the research behind OmegaCheck™, practical aspects of testing, monitoring intervals, and interpretation of results. Pharmacologist Kelly C. Heim, Ph.D. presents strategies to optimize the ratio through dietary modifications and supplementation.‡
